The Combat-Oriented Party Introduced

The latest chapter concluded with a huge suspense moment and presented the initial group of adventurers who will branch out from the central cast to undertake their own adventure, apart from the remaining groups.

The combat-focused team consists of the determined fighter (played by Travis Willingham), the agile character (Laura Bailey), the strong-willed figure (the cast member), the cleric (the player), and Kattigan (Robbie).

Why Split the Party?

Considering an extensive roster, it was obvious from the beginning that having everyone at a single group would be unfeasible.

This explains, the opening chapters of Campaign 4 serve as an Prelude, intertwining the characters’ stories before dividing into three separate parties: Fighters, Strategists, and Seekers.

Characteristics of the Warrior Group

As described by Brennan Lee Mulligan, the combat-focused party is for players who enjoy a classically intense combat and conflict-driven story mode where diplomatic options are scarce.

At first glance, characters like the hesitant healer the cleric might appear unsuited, but the developments of episode 3 demonstrate why these five characters are ideally matched for the Soldiers table.

Motivations for Departure

First, the group has a clear idea where to head next after a brutal first encounter with the enemy group.

An old friend of Thjazi—whose death initiated the story’s plot—used the foes for his own means, breaking into the hidden lair, assaulting Thimble, and taking all the powerful objects to auction.

Casimir then paid off his obligations and ran away to a Halovar stronghouse in the remote area, above Dol-Makjar, with Cyd pursuing him.

Individual Reasons

Additionally, each character has a individual motive to depart the metropolitan area:

  • Thimble, as the close ally and best friend, desires revenge.
  • The adventurer has experience in Timmony and advises that it is a hostile place.
  • Tyranny and The cleric, having disobeyed his family’s wishes to execute the fighter and instead freed him, have no other options.
  • However, their status as prominent individuals in House Halovar could assist the team reach locations they typically wouldn’t be able to.
  • Furthermore, The grateful character swore a unbreakable promise to Wicander for his deliverance and will now accompany him everywhere.

Pursued by Authorities

Finally, all of them are sought by the authorities that rule the city for a multiple motives, making staying in the city dangerous:

  • The rogue and The character are known criminals.
  • The strong figure and The cleric betrayed House Halovar and the legion of demons they are partnered with.
  • The fighter is wanted dead by the family.

This leaves them few options but to travel to Timmony in quest for Casimir.
